I get asked by friends and relatives all over the country what to look for in a cleaning service. Is it fancy uniforms, the lowest price, the car with the advertising all over it, or maybe the fancy processes? No, no, no…the reality in housekeeping is that cleaning is very simple; either it is clean or it isn’t clean. All the fancy stuff won’t get the home or business any cleaner.
Satisfied clients would be your first place to go to determine the quality of the cleaning service. The more satisfied clients the better. If you go to Google reviews and find NO reviews what are you thinking? If you go to their website and find NO testimonials? If you ask for references and you get a bewildered look? ask yourself why.
Happy clients are not afraid to say that they are happy. They are willing to share this with the world in the form of testimonials, reviews, and/or references. If you are seeking a quality service there is NO substitute for good reviews and happy clients. During your interview process ask for references, testimonials, reviews, and their first born.
Why: you want to ascertain the quality of the service but even more important than quality is trustworthiness. From the testimonials and references you should be able to determine what type of service you are dealing with…are they trustworthy? After all you are letting these folks into your home, office, or place of business.
Is the cleaning service licensed in the Reno/Sparks market? Do they have a state license? Click here to check state licensing. Click here to check city of Reno.
Do they protect you from potential litigation by carrying workers compensation insurance, general liability insurance, and are their employees bonded? Can they prove this and why is it important?
Proper Insurance coverage by the company servicing your cleaning needs will help protect you from financial losses if someone is injured on your property, if someone breaks something while they are working on your premises, and if you have property damage that insurance can prevent you from being financially burdened. Bonding simply protects you as the homeowner/business runner in case someone were to steal something while in the employee of the cleaning service. Most bonds require that the person be prosecuted and found guilty prior to any payment (just so you are aware).
Now, ask yourself…what are you looking for in a cleaning service?
