Active Ion

There are two key scientific concepts driving the technology in the Activeion™ products: electrolysis and electroporation. The science of electrolysis is over 100 years old, and the science of electroporation has been around for decades. Before Activeion, products incorporating these technologies cost thousands of dollars or were only available in specialized laboratory equipment.

Activeion is the first to combine the science of electrolysis and electroporation into a small, hand-held appliance available to everyone. The result is a device that cleans-up dirt and kills harmful germs with tap water and needs no chemical-related health warning label.

Activeion technology uses the science of electrolysis to transform regular tap water into a general-purpose cleaning solution. It can be used to clean soils, stains, dirt, dust, oils and more. The Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI) at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, tested Activeion technology against some of the leading chemical cleaners. The results – Activeion cleans as well as, or in some cases, better than, the general-purpose and specialized chemical cleaners selected for testing.

Activeion technology also uses the science of irreversible electroporation to kill harmful common bacteria and inactivate viruses within six seconds. For us to legally claim that our handheld chemical-free cleaning devices kill germs, the United States EPA requires that every claim be validated by proper testing at an independent laboratory. The testing must comply with a specific EPA protocol, called the Good Lab Practice (GLP) protocol. According to the lab results of Activeionʼs testing, when used as directed, our technology kills more than 99.9% of E. Coli, staph, salmonella, E. Coli O157:H7, pseudomonas, listeria, MRSA, VRE, and the H1N1 virus.
